That's really a nice idea it reminds me of closure :) I think its inspired by it
I love the idea
here some points I didn't like:
- Rule number one stick that anything that moves in the dark should have something to notify you like the moving platforms the eye was nice thing to show that its here now so I think the bullets from the skulls should be same also the jumping creature on death
- the creatures when killed they don't come again to life which make u sometimes stuck and restart the level its ok but its not a good idea always to that
- the stopped platform that moves when the hole over it I don't like them much because it just adds a lot of confusion
- the hole u look through I think it needs to be a bit bigger because sometimes I can't see good with it and rotate alot around the screen
but overall its really nice game good job
what you have tried to do with the game is amazing.. there are some kinks here and there and the usage of the theme was creative. I do think the window you look through needs to be bigger.
music and graphics are simple
technically the game looks very good
A different adventure game with some strands of Point and Click. It would better for the player if you have chosen the diameter of light circle larger.
I really like the concept of this game. Being able to see in the area you highlight is really cool. Even the objects that would only work if the light was on them. That being said there were a few things I didn't like as well. I didn't like the moving platforms that only moved when you shined the light on them. Not because they didn't move but because you couldn't see them at all once the light wasn't on them. It was very hard to know where they were when the light wasn't on them.
Liked the music and the sound effects as well. I'll give this one a 4/5.

Second, it is intentional for the platform that only moves when there's light on them to not be seen immediately, in contrast to the platform that moves when it is dark. We did it that way because we want a challenging puzzle platformer that makes the player explore. If we made everything obvious, what's the fun in that? XD

In reply to your question, there isn't really enough time to implement masking in unity even if such implementation is possible. What we did was just simply putting a huge plane in front of the camera with a white png as its texture and a hole in the middle of it, to give an illusion of masking.
